Days Like This

As I walk with my family I notice Grandma’s old swing with the windchimes hanging from it and think of days that we’d sit out in her yard and talk. Spring hasn’t sprung quite yet, so we’re walking in a world of grey mixed with emerald green water. We walk down by the creek and sit on the concrete slabs that used to hold the old bridge while we reminisce about growing up and playing down by the water. We’d find crawdads, old bottles, and aarow heads. We talk about the time we rescued all the tadpoles when the pond flowed over the levy and imagine that Lincoln probably walked right where we walked…
