I can’t get over what good friends I have here in Nashville! Sunday night I was invited to go to a benefit concert/writers round at Woodmont Hills Church to see my friend and mentor, Pat Flynn perform with a group of heavy-weight writers. It was a wonderful benefit! At intermission I was invited to go back stage and meet the writers. I was fortunate to meet and hang out with Rebecca Lynn Howard, Steven Dale Jones, Jim McBride, and Phil White. I always walk away from writers nights inspired. I left feeling like the dream I’m pursuing is really happening for me. I am doing what I love doing: writing, performing, living life and meeting people along my path that inspire and help me. I am so thankful that I got to meet all of the writers that participated! I really admire each and every one of their works! These writers are responsible for songs such as “Forgive,” “Chasing that Neon Rainbow,” “Chattahoochee,” “One More Day,” “I’m Moving On,” “Nobody but Me,” and “Do What You Gotta Do.” I am the happiest girl in the USA! I feel like the most blessed too! P.S. When Pat and I meet, I feel like I get a personal guitar lesson from Pat Flynn-how awesome is that?!

Singing for my Supper
April 6, 2009Tonight I played from 6-midnight with Larry Hamilton at the Nashville Palace. We had some great people stop in! Folks from Illinois, Washington, Michigan, NY, & more were there to listen to country music & get their dance on. Thanks to all of the people who got up to sing a song or two!

Backstage
April 5, 2009I work with the best people & have the best friends & family. Last night my husband & I went back stage at the Grand Ole Opry. That’s probably my favorite thing to do in Nashville. We talked with artists & had the best view from the wings. I told Little Jimmy Dickens jokes, and he said he’d have to get a new routine. Later, a group of us headed to Cracker Barrel for some good home-cooking. It was the best night!
I had the best day at the Nashville Palace before heading to the Opry. It was my first day back in a while, and I sang & played to a busy crowd. I even saw a group of people from Illinois that remembered meeting me the first week I came to Nashville. That was like coming home!

Saturday at the Nashville Palace
April 2, 2009Come hang out with me at the Nashville Palace from 1-5pm on Saturday, April 4th. Irlene Mandrell will be in the backroom. You’ll be just a few steps from the Grand Ole Opry. I hear Michael Martin Murphey & Pat Flynn will be playing both shows that night. See ya there!
